New stable acquisition Vellastar was able to salute the judge at Sandown yesterday, in only his second start for the stable.He claimed the BM70 1400m race given a well timed ride by jockey Ben Melham.
With a slightly awkward draw in barrier 12, he jumped away and settled back second last, about 3 off the fence in the better going.Once into the straight he was the widest runner continuing to gain momentum and was too strong to the line.
