Turnitaround surprised connections when he was able to win at Flemington second up on Anzac day in the 1700m open handicap. He jumped well and come across from a slightly awkward outside gate to settle third under the guidance of Dean Yendall. He travelled up well and was switched to the inside rounding the home turn before hitting the lead at around the 300m mark where he fought off contenders and kicked on the hit the line strong.
Thought to be needing the run before having him at his peak into this week’s Warrnambool May Carnival, we are now eagerly awaiting what he can produce on his home track.
Congratulations to all of his connections. It rounded off a good few days for the colours of breeder and part owner Michael Rea, when Turnitaround’s half sister Lady Selkirk won her maiden at Ararat two days prior.
