Consistent Hard Spun gelding Turnitaround capped off a fantastic preparation yesterday taking out the last race on day one of the Warrnambool May Carnival the 1700m open handicap.  Well rated in behind the leaders by in form jockey Dean Yendall, he was never in doubt when he peeled three wide at the 600m into the best part of the track to go on and win by 2 lengths.

It was a popular win with the majority being local owners, including Michael Rea who breed Hardy. Out of the mare Devon Dancer who Matthew also trained and coincidently delivered Matthew’s first ever win at the carnival back in 2003.

Hardy will now head to the spelling paddock for a well deserved break and return in the spring to be headed towards some country cups and appealing Vobis bonus prize money. Congratulations to all his connections.
