Having only her third start since joining our stable, five year old Mi Rock Aly dug deep to win the $55,000 2100m BM 70 at Sandown Park Lakeside. Having come off two encouraging previous starts it was great to see her find her way into the winners stall. She is a promising staying mare who Matthew feels will be suited as a country cups horse.
Ridden by Thomas Stockdale she had drawn the widest gate but jumped fast and was able to push forward without too much trouble to settle second outside the leader. Going against her normal racing pattern she showed versatility and continued to find proving too strong to the line.
Congratulations to all of her connections, she seems to be a mare with plenty of upside going forward. Her race record now reads- 13- 3:3:1 for $114,392 in stakes.
