A Jericho Cup day to remember for the stable with two winners for our team. The brain child of Mr Bill Gibbons the Jericho is a day dedicated to honouring fallen soldiers and war horses. Homebred filly Bello Bello was too strong breaking her maiden in the 1400m Harry Bell while Stardom Awaayts was on the quick back up stepping out to 1700m taking out the BM 58 Banjo Paterson.
Bello Bello with Dean Yendall in the saddle jumped ok and took a sit third on the inside two lengths off the leader. Coming into the straight she was behind a wall of horses but luck came her way getting a split at the 150m where she burst through and attacked the line. Meanwhile Stardom Awaayts with Jordan Childs was a bit slow away but was not bustled to settle down mid field three wide with a trail. He joined in at the 200m mark and finished off too well on his home track giving the stable much more confidence with him going forward.
Congratulations to both sets of owners, I am sure those who were on course would agree Jericho Day is one to mark in the racing calendar.
