Jumping as the $1.65 favourite in the 1500m maiden plate in Geelong today, Sachem the three year old gelding by Street Boss was able to go one better than his previous two starts and get the job done.
Ridden by Dean Yendall he jumped away slightly slowly from barrier five but mustered speed early to settle second, one off the fence with cover. He have a lovely kick in the straight to let down strongly and claim the race by a length.
Congratulations to his connections, he seems to be a horse with some upside which I am sure we will have some fun with. The stable has a strong connection with this horse having also trained his dam Flying Tessie who was a successful galloper for the same group of loyal owners.
