Matthew has always had an opinion of the three year old gelding by Foxwedge and was on the money to declare him as a “moral” today.  Starting as the $2.10 favourite Royal Fox was able to break his maiden over 1400m with jockey Zac Spain in the saddle.

With blinkers on for the first time he jumped well from barrier seven, but over raced with a moderate tempo in the early and mid stages of the race.  Travelling in the three wide lane with cover nearing the turn he joined the leaders and was far too strong through the line to claim the race by 2.5 lengths.

Congratulations to his connections some of which were lucky enough to be on course to enjoy the win.  Royal Fox was picked by Matthew at the Inglis Premier sales being a full brother to our multiple city winning mare Kuramae who was sold to stud for $200K.  Royal Fox has now won over $33K from five career starts.
