A win with a homebred is always a little more satisfying and Raymond’s Reward (Banri Maeve X Reward For Effort) was able to get his maiden ticked off on his home track in the 1400m for three year olds.

Having drawn a good barrier in gate 3 jockey Dean Yendall took a sit outside the leader hitting the front by a narrow margin on the turn and fought on strongly to win by 0.2 lengths.  Dean reported he was racing a bit greenly by laying in under pressure and would only improve with the race day experience.

Congratulations to all of his connections made extra special by having both Matthew and Ultra’s parents in the ownership.  Raymond’s Reward has now had two starts for a win and a second collecting almost $54k in stakes.
