Lightly raced son of Artie Schiller, Price Of Venice got the job done at his home track on Oaks Day yesterday taking out the 1200m maiden.

First up and with the blinkers on, he was slightly slow away from the gates and settled for his rider Damien Thornton in the second half of the field.  He then mustered speed quickly into the straight and although he was in a 4 wide lane he let down beautifully the hit the line full of running and win by almost 2 lengths.

Congratulations to his owners, after a fairly luckless first preparation it was great to get Prince into the winners stall showing the potential Matthew has known he is capable of.
