Three year old Complacent filly Parvati Party (NZ) has been there abouts all preparation without winning. This time the stable headed North with her to Warracknabeal in an attempt to find a drier track and she was able to tick her maiden victory off over the mile in good fashion.
Ridden by inform jockey Dean Yendall (who rode four winners on the day) she jumped fairly from the widest gate but was not pushed early and raced well back with cover about seven lengths from the lead. She was niggled at at the 700m mark and improved between runners, however was held up from the 400m in what looked like it could have been a hard luck story. Dean went back to the inside on the home turn and she charged through in the final stages of the race to finish off strongly.
Congratulations to her connections, Parvati Party has now gone to the paddock for a well deserved spell.
