Three year old Von Costa De Hero filly Annie’s Our Hero, was able to break her maiden status at Warrnambool on Friday, by taking out the Super Vobis three year old 1100m race.  The homebred filly is out of a broodmare we raced called Desatin who sadly passed away after giving birth to Annie, hence the stable name deriving from Orphan Annie.

Jumping from barrier 2 with Jarrod Fry in the saddle, she settled well in the run three pairs back.Approaching the home turn she was allowed to stride forward and came wide around the field before hitting the lead at the 100m mark.  She then let down well to the line to go on and claim the race by a length.

Congratulations to her loyal connections, some of whom have been long time stable clients.  It was great to see Annie in the winners stall after racing so consistently of late.
