Lightly raced 4 year old Statue Of Liberty mare, Manhattan Spirit was able to get her first win on the board at Ballarat yesterday taking out the Fillies and mares 1200m maiden.
Ridden by Jack Hill, she jumped from barrier seven and settled mid field early. She then began to make her move coming into the straight and although three wide with no cover she toughed it out to hold on by a neck.
