In form filly Intellective was able to deliver Matthew a great gift on his birthday by claiming her first city win today at Sandown. Having her second run for the prep and coming off a last start victory at Terang, she took the necessary step up by taking out the 1600m BM64.
Drawn well in barrier three she was slightly slow away but jockey Dean Yendall pushed forward to hold a position third two lengths back on the fence. At the 400m mark Yendall took advantage of the cut away in the rail to take a inside run, she fought hard in the straight and kept on going to score by 3/4 of a length.
Congratulations again to all of her connections, we now look towards the possibility of a step up to a Saturday metro race.
