Homebred Fighting Sun gelding Fight On Shades was able to break his maiden at Hamilton over 1100m first up for the preparation. Coming off an average first preparation he had spelled well and Matthew commented that he was certainly a bigger, stronger horse this time around.
Jumping ok from barrier six in an eight horse field he showed some good early speed to push forward and sit outside the leader, race favourite Golden Ridge. Given a great ride by Dean Yendall he was able to kick off the turn coming into the straight and let down well to claim the win.
Congratulations to his connections it was great to get him into the winners stall, hopefully he can continue on his winning way.
