Former Moody trained galloper Heza Chaka was able to get a first up win for the stable yesterday at Warracknabeal, taking out the BM58 1205m race. The 5yo gelding by Pins kept the favourite punters happy being too strong to the line and claiming the race by a comfortable 3 ¼ lengths.

Ridden by 1.5kg claiming apprentice Kyle Maskiell, he jumped from barrier 10 and was caught 4 wide with no cover for the majority of the trip. Settling in the second half of the field he began a mid race move at the 400m and rounded up the field on the turn. He then cruised down the outside of the track and was never in doubt of victory.

Congratulations to OTI and all of his connections, let’s hope Otis can now continue on his winning way.
