Written Tycoon mare Literary Magnate has provided the stable and her owners with one of our biggest thrills in racing by taking out the $200K Group 3 Senet Northwood Plume Stakes over 1200m at Caulfield.
First up after a let up Matthew felt they may have been a bit slick for her at this level and would have been happy to see her three lengths off them finding the line. Given a great ride by jockey Dean Yendall she jumped ok from barrier five before settling two wide off mid field. On straightening she pushed through and fought hard to the line to win by 0.4L. Literary Magnate has now won over $460K in stakes after being purchased as a yearling for $135K.
