Four year old Wrote mare Wrote To Arataki has added a valuable black type win to her name taking out the feature $200K group 3 Bellmaine Stakes at Sandown over 1300m. Coming off a last start victory at Flemington Matthew was confident she was fit and well but acknowledged the step up in grade and wide gate to negotiate.
Given a great front running ride by jockey Jamie Kah she jumped well from barrier 10 and was able to cross and settle in the lead without too much trouble. She then controlled the speed leading all of the way and was able to hold off the runner up pinning her ears and fighting hard to the line.
Congratulations to her connections, she is now putting together a very handy record 10- 4:1:2 with stakes over $265K. Wrote To Arataki will now head towards the group 3 Frances Tressady stakes at Flemington.
