Stable star Turnitaround continues his fantastic form winning his fourth consecutive race by taking out the 1800m open handicap at Ladbrokes Park Hillside on Saturday. The 5yo gelding by Hard Spun has now knocked up a win over the May carnival, two Flemington wins with Saturday’s Sandown win giving him a well deserved picket fence against his name.
With apprentice Ben Thompson retaining the ride to give some weight relief from the 60kg, he jumped from the widest gate in the 9 horse field. After jumping well he drifted back towards the tail of the field and settled three wide with cover. He straightened up 4 lengths off, came the widest into the better going and was too strong to the line holding off the Hawkes trained Longeron.
