A rewarding double for the stable at Hamilton saw two winners of different extremes.  Unseen Ruler took out the 1100m 3yo maiden on debut, while Champagne Witness having been placed either second or third at her previous 13 career starts was finally able to get herself into the winners stall in the 1400m maiden plate.

Unseen Ruler was purchased off a trial in New Zealand and with a debut win has provided a quick return on investment for his owners.  Given a great ride by jockey Will Gordon he jumped from the widest gate in a small five horse field and showed a strong will to win.  Champagne Witness was ridden by Beau Mertens, she jumped ok to settle forth on the inside joining in at the 150m proving too strong to win by almost 2 lengths.  Hopefully this will give her some confidence going forward she has now shown she knows how to win !!!

Congratulations to the connections of both horses.
