Irish import Darvin was impressive winning at Sandown Hillside today getting out to his pet staying trip of 3000m in race two the BM 70 handicap.  In hiis second preparation for the stable which has been much more encouraging after being disappointing on heavy ground in his first two Australian starts.  Given a good spell and being gelded seems to have done the trick showing good improvement this time in.

Jumping ok from barrier 7 the instructions were to be positive, so jockey Dean Yendall pressed forward to settle outside the leader.  Darvin was then allowed to take over the lead at the 1200m mark and kicked on the turn to straighten up two lengths clear, Yendall took a sneaky peak over his shoulder before racing away to claim victory by four and a half lengths full of running to the line.

Congratulations to OTI and their partners who have had their patience rewarded.  Darvin has now had 12 career starts for two wins and two seconds.
