It’s A Classic was able to get his racing career off to a flying start when he won on debut at Swan Hill by taking out the 1200m 3 year old maiden. The homebred by Testa Rossa out of Makaha (dec) had trialled up well but Matthew admitted he was “quietly surprised” by the win.

Ridden by Damien Thornton he had to overcome the slightly awkward draw of barrier 9. He jumped well from the gates and settled in the first half of the field. He found himself three wide with no cover in the mid stages of the race before coming wide on the turn to chase down the Weir trained leader, No Emotion and claim the race by ¾ of a length.

Congratulations to all of his connections, a nice race to win with the Vobis bonuses attached and for those who backed him a healthy $21 for the win.  We now hope Timmy can continue on his winning way.
