Four year old Star Witness gelding Brilliant Concept sure has a fancy for Ballarat, with three of his four career wins being at the course. Showing his versatility two of these wins have been on the synthetic with yesterdays victory in the 1600m BM64 on a heavy 9 turf track.
Jumping well from barrier 10 he cruised across with no pressure to take up the lead. The speed was only moderate until about 550m from home but he was able to kick strongly into the straight in the testing conditions to break away from the field and claim the race by almost three lengths. A 10/10 front running ride by claiming apprentice Campbell Rawiller.
Congratulations to his winning owner who is also his breeder, it was fantastic to see him back in the winners stall.
