Four year old Testa Rossa mare, Alma’s Rossa was able to claim the BM 64 1500m race at Ballarat on Tuesday in convincing fashion. After jumping ok from the inside gate she was restrained to take a trail running 4th.  Matthew had discussed with her jockey Jack Hill, that he wanted to have her ridden slightly more positive today so she didn’t have quite as much ground to make up in the straight as in her previous starts.

Jack then showed great initiative to move away from the fence and on the turn she was eased into the three wide lane.  She then let down beautifully in the straight and was eased down on the line to claim the race by 3 ½ lengths.

Congratulations to her connections, this brings up her third win and almost $90,000 in stakes.  Let’s hope Angel can now continue on her winning way.
