Almsgiver was able to show a return to form today by winning at Horsham after having had kissing spine surgery in late November 2021.
Carrying the top weight of 60kg with Mitch Aitkin in the saddle, the stable was looking for an improvement on his two previous starts this prep where he still wasn’t really finding the line. Jumping from barrier two he was able to settle in the box seat before going for an inside run on the turn which closed up and took all of his momentum. To his credit he picked up again with luck going our way in a photo finish.
